Hubungan Mindset dan Kecerdasan Emosional pada Mahasiswa Aktif di Kota Gorontalo

Asesmen literasi PISA tahun 2022 mengemukakan 68% siswa di Indonesia menganggap kreativitas mereka tidak dapat berkembang dari waktu ke waktu. Hal ini berarti, siswa cenderung melihat kemampuan diri dengan fixed mindset atau keyakinan bahwa kemampuan diri tidaklah dapat diubah. Hal ini dapat membuat mereka kesulitan di saat menghadapi tantangan kedepan ketika mereka menjadi mahasiswa. Di kota Gorontalo sendiri, skor IPM memperlihatkan peningkatan dari tahun 2012 hingga 2024. Namun, masih berada dibawah rata-rata skor nasional. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis hubungan antara mindset dan kecerdasan emosional pada mahasiswa aktif di kota Gorontalo. Penelitian menggunakan desain korelasional dengan pendekatan kuantitatif. Responden penelitian adalah 63 mahasiswa aktif di kota Gorontalo usia 17-23 tahun. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan adanya hubungan positif yang signifikan antara mindset dan kecerdasan emosional dengan koefisien korelasi sebesar 0.390** dan nilai signifikansi (p) < 0.005. Individu dengan growth mindset memiliki kemampuan lebih baik dalam mengelola tantangan dan kegagalan. Mahasiswa dengan growth mindset juga cenderung lebih terbuka terhadap feedback, melihat tantangan sebagai peluang pembelajaran, dan memiliki self-regulation yang lebih baik sebagai komponen kunci emotional intelligence. Penelitian selanjutnya disarankan mengembangkan desain pelatihan untuk meningkatkan growth mindset melalui peningkatan kecerdasan emosional dan melihat berbagai variabel lainnya yang menguatkan hubungan antar variabel.
